Teaching Artistry

Teaching Artists work directly in every kind of community — schools, hospitals, neighborhoods, companies — to create change at the individual and community level.

Teaching Artistry is the sleeping giant of social change.

  • Teaching Artist Guild

TAG is a practitioner-led community which raises the visibility and development of artists who teach.

TAG works with partners at the regional, state, national, and international levels to advocate for the work of teaching artists and to forge pathways that will strengthen, develop, and evolve our field both within and outside of the sector.

  • International Teaching Artist Collaborative

ITAC is a global network of Teaching Artists (also known as community artists, participatory artists, artist mediators, or socially engaged artists) who use their artistry to catalyze meaningful social change in their communities and schools.

The network is made up of 4,000+ grassroots practitioners from all over the world (45+ countries), 5 National Hubs, and multiple key partners. All of our work and projects are designed to serve the needs of this community.
